At about 6:15 p.m., a motorist complained to Ontario Provincial Police of being pulled over on Dundas Street West by a man in a red vehicle using flashing red and blue lights.

After a brief exchange, the man left with the vehicle last spotted on Front Street.

Quinte West OPP officers located a suspect, made an arrest and seized the lights, which were found in a search of the vehicle, the detachment said in a news release on Thursday.

The 40-year-old man was also charged with breach of recognizance and Highway Traffic Act charges of having unauthorized red and blue lights and failing to notify of a change of address.

He was released from custody on an undertaking pending a July 29 court date.
