Most people start their morning with a coffee or eggs or some kind of bran-forward cereal. This week a homeowner in North Vancouver kicked off their day with a big ol’ plate of silver SUV smashing into their yard. If the caffeine didn’t wake them, this surely must’ve.

At around 9:30 AM, a motorist passing through the Lonsdale neighbourhood in North Van failed to spot a stop sign at East 21st Street and St. Georges Avenue, and caused a collision that then resulted in them running into a residential property. The car came to a stop tipped sideways outside of the home’s front door, its front end in a large bush.

“The car that was travelling southbound struck the vehicle that ran the stop sign and the vehicle that was struck went into a front yard of a property at that location,” Sgt. Peter DeVries, a spokesperson for the North Vancouver RCMP told Vancouver Is Awesome.

The house itself wasn’t hit during the accident, but there was significant damage to outside structures and landscaping. Fortunately no one was injured, though it was surely a scary moment for everyone involved. Both police and fire crews were called to the scene and the driver was issued a ticket for failing to obey a stop sign.

Adblock test (Why?)
