Gander RCMP conducts traffic stop resulting in seizure of drugs and cash - Royal Canadian Mounted Police

Three people are being investigated for possession for the purpose of trafficking following a traffic stop conducted by Gander RCMP on August 29, 2021, that led to the seizure of a quantity of drugs and cash.

At approximately 2:15 a.m., police were on the Trans-Canada Highway near Little Harbour and conducted a traffic stop with a car that had expired registration. The driver, a 26-year-old woman, was driving with a suspended licence and without insurance. Officers observed contraband tobacco on one of the two passengers in the car and suspected cocaine on the back seat. A search of the vehicle and the three occupants led to the seizure of a quantity of cash and illicit pills.

The car was seized and impounded and the investigation is continuing.

RCMP NL continues to fulfill its mandate to protect public safety, enforce the law, and ensure the delivery of priority policing services in Newfoundland and Labrador.
