In the spotlight of a national CBC TV broadcast, the Ottawa 67’s blanked the Barrie Colts 3-0  on Saturday afternoon in Barrie.

Ottawa goalie Will Cranley was sensational, stopping all 28 shots he faced for his first shutout of the Ontario Hockey League season. Vsevolod Gaidamak opened the scoring in the second period, with Jack Beck and Cam Tolnai each finding the back of the net for the third straight game.

The Colts outshot the 67’s 10-2 in the first period, but Cranley was magnificent. The Ottawa goaltender made save after save, including a cross-crease stop on the game’s first chance.

Tolnai’s empty-netter with four seconds to go sealed the deal for the 67’s (4-3-0).

Ottawa, which lost 5-2 against the host Mississauga Steelheads on Friday, remains on the road for a Sunday game in Oshawa.
