Article content

Two Brantford residents are facing charges after police stopped a vehicle that nearly hit a cruiser at East Avenue and Alfred Street at about 9 p.m. on Nov. 29.

Police said they seized a replica firearm, a large quantity of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine and crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, including packaging and digital scales. The estimated street value of the drugs is nearly $30,000.

The 31-year-old male driver and a 35-year-old female passenger are each charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The man is also charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, failing to comply with a release order and driving while under suspension.

A second female passenger was not charged.
