Ottawa police seized a fully loaded handgun during a traffic stop in the Overbrook neighbourhood.
Frontline patrol officers seized the weapon during a traffic stop near the intersection of Eve Street and Fullerton Avenue on Thursday afternoon.
A 21-year-old Gatineau man is now facing related charges.
Police referred to the weapon as a “crimegun,” which the Ottawa Police Service defines as “a firearm that is obtained illegally and therefore for the purpose of crime.”
